Deputy Prime Minister
and Minister of Education
Lee Ju-ho
It is with great pleasure that we host U.S.-ROK-Japan Trilateral Global Leadership Youth Summit in the heart of the global maritime city of Busan, Korea.
Last August, the leaders of the Republic of Korea, the United States, and Japan recognized the importance of our trilateral partnership and committed to strengthening connections, particularly amongst our young minds and future leaders. It is truly inspiring that their vision has brought us together for this inaugural trilateral youth summit in Busan.
While we live in an era of unprecedented freedom and prosperity, ongoing global conflicts around the world threaten global peace, and the global economy faces complex challenges. As the problems facing humanity today have become more complex than ever before, they are also too complex for any single nation to resolve alone. We must address them through international solidarity and cooperation.
I am confident that by coming together at this first-ever trilateral youth summit, we have the unique opportunity to share diverse perspectives, explore practical solutions to global issues, and ultimately build a future rooted in freedom, solidarity, and lasting peace for the entire international community.
Building on the connections made since March, I look forward to fostering a long-term and much stronger partnership, and leveraging the ideas and collaborative spirit established here to translate them into tangible actions. I extend a warm welcome once again and wish you all continued success in your endeavors. Thank you.
